As you probably know by now, one of the favorite parts of my job is the opportunity to collaborate with creative talents who also like to push the envelope a bit. Funnily enough, I originally connected with Bess Wyrick of Celadon & Celery through Instagram after she commented on an inspirational photo idea I posted for our shoot. I instantly recognized her work from a recent New York magazine cover of Jeff Koons and put her up to the design challenge of creating an equally stunning floral crown for CeciStyle.
As we thought about my headpiece, we were inspired by the gold swirls and opulence of this week’s invitation, but also wanted to bring in some of the sweet, softer elements of Alice & Jason’s wedding. Read on to see how Bess, along with the Arminé Ohanessian of R-Mine Bespoke, brought the crown from fantasy to reality. I think you’ll agree the result is dramatic, opulent and truly a work of art!
